When I was around thirteen to fourteen, one of our horses contracted rabies. Because I had been down in the barn feeding and watering her and handling some of her other care I had to get the vaccination once we found out that it was indeed rabies.
Unfortunately, I had a severe adverse reaction to the vaccine. If I got too hot or too cold I would get hives from the top of my scalp to the soles of my feet. I would look like someone burnt my skin with a blow torch. It also felt like my skin was on fire.
I would rather give birth naturally than go through the pain of those hives again.
Well here’s one of the stories of the torture that the Monster would put me through. Mind you, my mom and sisters were at an appointment of some sort.
I had my own horse and I loved working with him, but because of the vaccine I was allergic to the sun for years. When I would go out into the sun or get too hot or too cold, I would get the aforementioned hives.
Well one gorgeous day Monster locked me out of the house and told me to go work with my horse. I proceeded to go and stand in the shade of the barn to work with him. But Monster had other ideas. He came out of the house yelling and screaming at me about how I needed to get some sun. He then pushed me into the sun and I immediately started screaming and crying because of the excruciating pain I was in.
I quickly put my horse away and ran to my grandparent’s house which was just across the driveway. My grandfather kept me in their house until my mom and sisters got home, while my grandmother ripped Monster a new butt hole until my mom got home and took over.
It’s not like Monster didn’t know about my condition. He was there when we found out. Because of this I still have issues sweating and cooling down like a normal person. If I get too hot too fast then I basically swell up and get sick. I have to slowly cool down to start to sweat. Whereas if I get hot slowly by gardening or such, then I can sweat normally. But instead of cooling me down, I get even warmer. It is a strange and frustrating issue.
I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy, but if Monster found a way to hurt us he would use it to his advantage.
I still have this issue to this day and I have learned how to handle the issue better now, but back then when we first found out it was a lot more severe and harder to handle.
This is just one instance of the sheer torture he put us all through. The stories that I am mentioning are what happened to me personally. I might hint around at some of my family’s abuses, but those are their stories to tell. Not mine.
